Another year goes by

Another year goes by, but there’s no time for nostalgia. It is time to make a balance of the year that was always with our eyes set on the year ahead. So today, I will be making a balance of the year and talking about a few projects I’ve got in store for 2022.

This was another odd year for everyone I guess. We are still in a pandemic and right at the end of the year, Omicron makes its appearance. So my guess is, it’s not going to end anytime soon. But we can’t dwindle on all this negativity and drown ourselves in sadness and depression. It is time to make a balance of the year and move on.

2021 in a nutshell

For me, 2021 was a year of reinventing myself, again. I created my YouTube channel and talked about our industry and our job. It has been an amazing experience. However, I wanted to do a bit more for the industry. Since the very start of my career, it was always my plan to be involved with the sector and do a bit more to improve it for us all. So, this year, I turn a negative into a positive and I used the extra time I had, due to a decrease in clients because of the pandemic, and I created my first courses. The course is about Starting a Translation Business and it is available in English and Portuguese. It is a way of helping my colleagues who are now starting their careers and don’t know where exactly should they start. Both courses are available at Udemy.

Looking forward to 2022

I’m already looking at 2022 and making lots of plans. I hope it is more profitable than 2021, and I am working hard to making that way. But once again, I am changing things, so expect changes on my YouTube channel and my social media pages. I won’t reveal exactly what those changes will be, but I can assure you I am very excited about them.

Summer Closure

But to start 2022 the best way possible, I need a break to recharge my batteries and be full of energy to face the challenges ahead. So, that means that in the next 4 weeks I won’t be posting articles or videos, as I will be on my usual summer break from Friday, the 17th of December until Monday, the 17th of January.

Before I go, I would like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2022. See you then!
